It has Italian Cagnoni reeds making it abetter quality instrument, even more durable than the previous model. The new Wren has a larger sound and better tone. The new improved reeds make an enormous difference. They make it great value at €350.
It is by far our most popular concertina, a 30 key Anglo wooden ended concertina with black bellows and comes in the keys of C/G. Suitable for adults and children alike. It has adjustable straps and larger white key buttons. It is used in the learning and teaching of Traditional Irish music and great beginner concertina, particularly favoured by teachers. The Wren has a laminated wood finish and bellows that are easy to open and close. It has pearl buttons and leather straps. All in all a very good student concertina with the back up serivce that is second to none.
Concertinas are an expensive instrument to purchase. The Wren is affordable. I have found the Wren not only durable but long lasting. They improve with age and last over 10 years. For this reason they can be traded in to us against an upgrade concertina. Students usually play them for 3 to 5 years and then trade them in against a higher grade concertina. Another advantage is it has an after sales service which is free for the first year and not expensive after that. |
